How to sideload files onto your eReader

In order to download my books to your devices, here are some instructions you might find useful. Although they might seem a little scary at first,  it isn’t too bad. I’ve provided links to some Youtube videos below which might help.

For all eReaders

You’ll need to move the file listed in my newsletter to your computer. Right click the file and save it to your computer and then you can transfer the file to your eReader.

Note: If you have the Kindle app on your PC or Mac, you can read the ebook on your PC or Mac for free.

To read on your computer:

Download the mobi file to your computer.

Download the free Kindle app at the below link:

Install the app to your computer.

Once installed, find the .mobi file I sent you and double or right click on the file and it should open in your device.

To send the MOBI file to your Kindle – Easy Way

You can use this easy to use program to to send books from your PC to your Kindle:

Sideloading onto your Kindle – Not as easy

For Mac users, you’ll first need to download a file program to share files from your Mac to your Kindle Fire HD device.
http://www.android.com/filetransfer/  and follow the instructions there

Otherwise:

•    Click on the ebook link in my newsletter so that you can download the MOBI file to your PC/laptop

•    Connect your Kindle to your computer using a USB cable

•    Once your Kindle is connected to your Mac or PC, locate the downloaded file using File Manager/Windows Explorer

•    Located on the left hand side (where it lists the device drives and files) will be a new device called KINDLE or something

similar

•    Inside this new device (click on it) is a /myfiles/documents folder

•    Find the MOBI file you downloaded (to your hard drive) and copy (or drag and drop) it to the KINDLE device

•    Safely eject the Kindle from your Mac or PC •    Open your Kindle and you should see the file there
